You mean the bad economy actually affects ME??

Yesterday I got laid off from my marketing job at a Boston-based social networking company. They laid off over 25% of the company - clearly things are not going well. While my feelings (and my pride too, I guess) are still hurt that I was let go, part of me sees this as a blessing in disguise. At 5 1/2 months pregnant, I'm not going to start looking for another full-time job (especially considering we had planned that I would not return to work after the twins are born - at least not right away).

It definitely hasn't sunk in yet that I'm "done" working for now; I know that we're going to have to tighten our budget, but I can't help but think about all the things I'll be able to get done this summer. Not to mention the fact that I'll be able to take it easy as I get bigger, and more uncomfortable. Hopefully I have enough projects around the house that I can work on in anticipation of the babies' arrival that I can keep myself busy.

Kristen,
Love the idea of a daily?? blog! Larry says I can vote more than once for names, but I think that's cheating. Mom is in complete agreement that being unemployed is a good thing even if it means cutting back on weekly expeditures. Not that it matters, but I'm happy that you have the summer to relax and enjoy before the twins change your lives completely. Word is that part of the time yesterday was spent creating an "AMAZING DINNER".
Love,
Dad
